Never a dull moment driving in Lake Effect Snow

Today's drive was almost as tough as the one on Monday.
Traffic was moving pretty well through Oriskany Boulevard towards 790, but getting cut off by another car nearly caused an accident.
Traffic volume on 790 was relatively low.

The only real trouble spot in my commute this morning came as I drove up Smith Hill Road.
A sand truck was driving down the hill as I came up and thankfully put the blade of the plow up just before we crossed paths.

Today was by far the worse day of the year. Rte 233 from Rome to Route 5 was trecherous. The visibilty on top of the icy and snow coated roads was terrifying!!!! I hope this stops before the ride home!!!!!

Todays was one of the worst communtes into work. I thought we weren't expected to get the snow until this afternoon. The travel between on Middelsettlenment Rd from Whitesboro to New Hartford then into Clinton was not fun. White out conditions and people traveling still drive fast and I was cut off twice. That's just carzy and people wonder why there are so many accidents.

Scarey out there.
Today was the worse I have encountered this season. Rome was a mess and it continued to be slick and white out conditions all the way into New Hartford. Careful traveling to all!!!!!

I would like to dedicate this comment to all the suv drivers...just because you have 4-wheel drive doesnt mean you're tires arent made of rubber..you can still slide just like us!! Faster you go..harder to control your mistakes..But keep flyin by me..see ya in the ditch!

Does anyone know why people refuse to put there lights on when the snow is bad? Snow covered cars traveling on snowy roads with LES flying equals other drivers not seeing you.

As a SUV driver, thanks, I will keep flying by you. I've never managed to sink er into the ditch.
Its getting by all those that can't drive in Snow thats the problem.... Maybe you should stay home?

I agree..everyone needs to slow down because what are we really in a hurry for? To go to work..cmon

I so agree with the one complaining about people flying by, however I more afraid of when they are flying by me they lose control or in this visability don't see something coming toward us and causing me to be involved in their accident..really, we need to slow down and respect others on the road!! STAY SAFE
